History of Kiama GFC
The Kiama Gamefishing Club was founded in 2001 following the vision of the inaugural President Mark Way.
The idea came to fruition when it was noted that a significant number of the members of other regional gamefishing clubs resided in the Kiama local area.
These fisherman came together and felt that it was an ideal opportunity to add to the Kiama region and form this Game Fishing Club.
The founding committee was formed in the year 2000.

2001 saw the Club come to life.
The committee and the president worked tirelessly to establish the club. This came to fruition in June 2001 when the KGFC became an affiliated entity and with the New South Wales Gamefishing Association sanctioning in July of that same year.

The Kiama Gamefishing Club's Blowhole Big Fish Classic Annual Tournament
Kiama GFC hold an annual tournament named the Blowhole Big Fish Classic. The first being held in 2002.
It is held in April each year when there are normally plenty of good fish around.
This tournaments main sponsor was Anthony Koder of Pacific Pine Warehouse. The tournament has consistently offered over $25,000 in prizes and attracts up to 50 boats each year with both the prizes and Quality of fishing continuing to improve.
As for being a winning club, some of our members hold World Records, Australian records, New South Wales records and a Junior Australian and N.S.W. record.

Kiama Gantry
The Kiama GFC Gantry that sits down kiama harbour was designed and built by our Sponsor Stuart Beck and his company Evermil. This Cornerstone of the club was built and placed in May 2001 and continues to be used today.
